Modern Simplicity for Bendon.
A focus on newness that feeds our sense of wellbeing and security that feels nourishing and supportive. There is a clear pull towards nostalgia and familiarity in the theme of Modern Simplicity, but at the same time not being a backward-looking trend. It is about firmly moving forward to a fast changing future by drawing on all that carries and connects us. A new season campaign for Bendon Group.

This campaign has a focus on feeding our sense of self. The location we shot at was chosen because it visually represented a sense of wellbeing and security that felt nourishing and supportive. The modern but homely house echoed a calm comfort and the expansive views felt refreshing and thoughtful. There is a clear pull towards nostalgia and familiarity in the theme of Modern Simplicity, but at the same time not being a backward-looking trend.
The visual storytelling for this campaign was achieved by capturing the images throughout the day to create a variety of moods within the one day shoot. Also the use of two models played into this narrative and added toward representing a newness.
I directed Modern Simplicity in a way that I believe elevated the everyday into commercial context. It was a way to communicate the idea of firmly moving forward to a fast changing future by drawing on all that carries and connects us.
